Cooked Corned Beef Brisket

5 pounds corned beef brisket
1 onion, halved
1 clove garlic, halved
6 whole cloves
8 peppercorns
2 bay leaves
4 stalks celery, cut in pieces

1. Put corned beef into a large kettle; cover with cold water. Add remaining ingredients and bring to boiling. Cover and simmer 3½ to 4 hours, or until the beef is tender.
2. Remove beef from liquid. Slice and serve hot with English Mustard Sauce.
