Bechamel Sauce Shopping List:

2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups hot milk, beef broth, or chicken broth
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup whipping cream

Bechamel Sauce Cooking Instructions:

Melt butter over medium heat; stir in flour. Using a whisk, stir rapidly until smooth. Gradually add milk or other liquid, stirring constantly. Bring sauce to a rapid boil and boil 4 minutes, or until sauce is thick and reduced to half its original volume. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat and stir in cream. Heat thoroughly, but do not boil.
