100% Whole Wheat Bread

100% Whole Wheat Bread Shopping List:

4 ¼ to 4¾ cups whole wheat flour
2 packages active dry yeast
1 tablespoon salt
¾ cup milk
¾ cup water
2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons honey
1 egg (at room temperature) Oil

100% Whole Wheat Bread Preparation Instructions:

1. Combine 1 ¾ cups flour, yeast, and salt in a large mix­ing bowl.
2. Heat milk, water, oil, and honey over low heat until very warm (120° to 130° F).
3. Add the liquid and egg to flour mixture; beat until smooth, about 3 minutes on high speed of electric mixer.
4. Gradually stir in more flour to make a soft dough.
5. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic (5 to 8 minutes).
6. Cover dough with bowl or pan; let rest 20 minutes.
7. Roll out to 16×8-inch rectangle.
8. Roll up from narrow side, pressing dough into roll at each turn. Press ends to seal and fold under loaf.
9. Place in a greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan; brush with oil.
10. Let rise in a warm place (80° to 85° F) until double in bulk (30 to 45 minutes).
11. Bake at 375° F 35 to 40 minutes.
12. Remove from pans immediately and brush with oil or butter; cool on wire rack.
