Fresh Peas with Basil

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
½ cup sliced green onion with tops
1 ½ cups shelled fresh peas (1 ½ pounds)
½ teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon basil
1 tablespoon snipped parsley
½ cup water

1. Heat butter in a skillet. Add green onions and cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add peas, sugar, salt, pepper, basil, parsley, and water.
2. Cook, covered, over medium heat 10 minutes, or until peas are tender.
ABOUT 4 SERVINGS
Note: If desired, use 1 package (10 ounces) frozen green peas and decrease water to ¼ cup.
