1 large head lettuce
6 slices bacon, diced
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1. Tear lettuce into pieces into a bowl; set aside.
2. Fry bacon until crisp in a skillet; reserve 1/4 cup drippings. Drain bacon on absorbent paper; set aside.
3. Stir the remaining ingredients into drippings in skillet. Heat mixture just to boiling, stirring constantly.
4. Immediately pour vinegar mixture over the lettuce and toss lightly to coat thoroughly. Top with the bacon.
