Dried Beef ‘n’ Noodles

1 cup diced celery
1 cup chopped onion
½ cup chopped green pepper
¼ cup shortening
2 tablespoons flour
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Dash Tabasco
½ cup (2 ounces) shredded American cheese
1 package (3 ounces) dried smoked beef, cut in pieces
2 cups cooked wide noodles
2 hard-cooked eggs, sliced

1. Saute celery, onion , and green pepper in shortening in a skillet.
2. Stir in flour. Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened and smooth. Add Worcestershire sauce , Tabasco , and cheese , stirring until smooth . Stir in beef and noodles.
3. Put into a 1 ½-quart casserole. Top with hard-cooked egg slices.
4. Bake , covered , at 350°F 30 minutes, or until heated through.
