German Veal Chops Shopping List:
4 veal loin or rib chops
Butter or margarine
2 medium onions, sliced
1 cup dark beer
1 bay leaf
½ teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
2 tablespoons flour
German Veal Chops Cooking Instructions:
1. Brown veal in butter in a skillet; set meat aside. Saute onion in same skillet until golden.
2. Add beer, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
3. Transfer veal and onion to a platter. Make a paste of flour and a little water; stir into cooking liquid in skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth. Pour over veal and onion.
Note: If you do not have dark beer, add 1/2 teaspoon molasses to light beer.
