Fried Cheese Roll

Fried Cheese Roll Shopping List:

6 (1-ounce) wedges Gruyere cheese
6 dinner crepes (see below)
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs, seasoned or plain
Oil for frying heated to 375° F

Fried Cheese Roll Preparing Instructions:

1. Coarsely shred 1 wedge of cheese over 1 crepe to within 1 inch of crepe edges. Fold two opposite sides of crepe over 1 inch. Continue folding as directed in egg-roll method (below). Dip rolls into eggs. Coat thoroughly with bread crumbs.
2. Fry in 375 ° F oil until golden brown (about 5 minutes). Cool slightly. Cut into 1-inch pieces and serve.

Fried Cheese Roll Recipe: 6 CHEESE ROLLS

Egg-Roll Method: Place filling in a line down the center of the crepe, leaving enough space at either end of the fill­ing to fold crepe up and over the filling. Lift edge and tuck around and under filling. Roll up firmly.
